The ensemble has a twenty-year tradition and counts almost 90 active children members.
The ensemble is special with its repertoire. Despite its placing in the heart of South Moravia, ensemble’s ample dance choreographies arrange temperament Slovak ethnography. Thus, it represents a rare opportunity for children to meet and understand Slovak language in a natural way through plays, saws, songs or spoken word. The sources come from various regions of Slovakia – Myjava, Liptov, Terchova, Upper Hron River, Detva or Zemplín. The dancers and singers are in their shows and not only there accompanied by a cimbalom band that is also a part of the ensemble.
The ensemble represented the city of Brno and the University of Defence to international festivals, such as Europeade in French city of Rennes, German Bayreuth, Danish Horsens, Belgian Antwerp, and other festivals in Sweden, Spain, Lithuania, Italy or Turkey, and also to the international exhibitions in Paris or Rennes. It was a great success for the ensemble that it had been chosen to be the only Czech representative sent to the world Wasshoi 2000 festival in Osaka, Japan. Many shows are performed for the University of Defence during significant social events.
