Curriculum vitae

Col. Prikryl was born on 12 July 1961 in Kromeriz, Czech Republic. He graduated from the Arms Faculty of the Military University of the Ground Forces, Vyskov, in 1984. In the period 1984 – 1987 he served as unit commanding officer. In 1987, he was appointed assistent lecturer for the Missile and Artillery Forces Department of the Military University of Ground Forces, Vyskov. In his teaching career for the Missile and Artillery Department or later Artillery Department he occupied the positions of assisstant lecturer, senior lecturer, team leader, deputy head and head of the Fire Support Control Department. In the period of 1997 till 1998 he studied at the artillery battalion commanders course in Germany a part of which was short deployment at the Bundeswehr artillery units. He concluded his PhD courses by defending the dissertation and passing the advanced exam in 1994. In 1998, he defended his habilitation thesis being awarded “docent” degree on 1 February 1999. In 2001 – 2003 he was appointed vice-dean of the Military Systems Management Faculty responsible for research and from 1 March 2003 to 31 August 2004 vice-rector of the MUGF for research. Colonel Bohuslav Prikryl was awarded professor degree on 1  September 2004 and based on regular academic elections appointed Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management, University of Defence. Since 15 September 2005 he has been appointed Vice-Rector of the University of Defence for development.

Curriculum vitae

Born on 31 January 1952 in Vyskov, Czech Republic, he graduated from the Palacky University Faculty of Science in Olomouc, Czech Republic. He started his research work at the Electrical Engineering and Informatics Faculty of the Technical College of Brno. He habilitated at the Mechanical Engineering Faculty of the Technical College of Brno. He received the Professor degree for Forces and Population Protection at the Military University of the Ground Forces, Vyskov. Since 15 September 2005 he has been appointed University of Defence Vice-Rector, responsible for curriculum. Having graduated he worked for Zbrojovka Vyskov in military technology design as researcher. Winning the competition he worked as researcher for the Hydrodynamics Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Prague, for four years. He has taught for the Military University of the Ground Forces and today for the University of Defence since 1983.

His scientific research and professional efforts have involved applied research for the all time. He has used experimental and mathematical methods for the current issues of military assets engagement and of population protection against the assets effects. Recently, he has involved issues enabling computer-aided modelling and simulating the processes. He has paid attention to training and educating specialists ready to manage the process and control efforts in emergency, if occurred.

He has written dozens of articles, scientific works and technical essays published by domestic and foreign houses to summarise the results of his work obtained in light sources design and development intended for ground and air assets of various types, utilisation of light as information source and carrier applied to measuring, behaviour modelling and calculus of thermal fields, development of non-destructive defect detection methods to quality check composite materials used in aircraft design and making, developing and providing guarantees of PhD degree course of Process Modelling and Simulating in Forces and Population Protection.

Curriculum vitae

Born on 1 February 1964 in Vranov nad Toplou (Slovakia), he studied grammar school in Revuca (Slovakia) and then Military Academy in Brno, graduating in 1987 in the field of weapons and ammunition of mechanical engineering. From 1987 to 1990 he was appointed armament repairs platoon leader and artillery regiment ordnance chief officer. In 1993 he concluded internal research assistantship at the Weapons System department of Brno Military Academy to get appointments of lecturer and senior lecturer teaching barrel weapons, weapon special equipment, artillery weapons, weapon systems and other subjects. In 1998 and 1999 he completed an internship and the course of artillery battalion and large unit commanders of Bundeswehr and at Idar-Oberstein artillery school.

In 2004 till 2005 he was acting head of Weapons and Ammunition Department of the University of Defence. His research focuses on small arms, artillery weapons and fire control systems. He has engaged in a number of projects of, particularly, defence research. LTC Macko is in charge of UD Faculty of Military Technology research plan. In 2003 he defended his habilitation thesis to attain to associate professorship. He has written numerous publications, utility designs and author craft works in weapons and ammunition, has become known for developing diagnostic instruments for laboratories, crime investigation or military forces in the field of small arms and has contributed to the development of target tracking passive systems and military weapons both in home country and abroad.

He has been appointed University of Defence vice-rector for research since 1 September 2008.

Curriculum vitae

Born in 1960 in Vsetin, Czech Republic, he graduated from the Brno University of Technology Faculty of Electrical Engineering. He started his military career in 1988 working in Valasske Mezirici until 1994 in a teaching position for the Military Secondary School of Transports and then in planning officer position at the Railway Corps Training Base. Between 1994 and 2003 he was appointed team leader and later International Relations Office Head for the second army corps or Land Forces Command in Olomouc. Between 2003 and 2006 he was Senior National Representative for the Czech Republic / Faculty Advisor to the NATO Defense College (Rome, Italy).

Since August 2006 he had worked for the UD Institute of Operational and Tactical Studies (Brno) in the position of mechanised units team leader and deputy head of arms department. In October 2007 he was appointed the Senior National Representative for the Czech Republic to EU operational command in Paris (France) responsible for EUFOR’s Tchad / RCA operation. He remained there until the end of August 2008.

Colonel Prucha has been appointed University of Defence vice-rector for external relations since 1 September 2008. He is married, father of two daughters (24 and 20). His hobbies include tennis, music, travelling and motor sport.
