The Ambassador of India to the Czech Republic H.E. Dinkar Prakash Srivastava paid a visit to the University of Defence on Wednesday 28 July 2010 accompanied by Colonel Gurpreet Singh, the Indian defence attache to the Czech Republic. The visitors arrive in Brno to learn of the University of Defence and Czech military higher education.
The guests to the University of Defence were welcomed by its vice-rector for research colonel doc. Ing. Martin Macko, CSc., and spokesperson lieutenant colonel Dr. Vladimír Šidla, CSc. The hosts get them acquainted with school’s mission and structure, education system and course relation to military professionals’ careers.
Then Indian diplomats’ headed to University’s Faculty of Military Technology’s Weapon and Ammunition department deployed in Cerna Pole barracks to meet lieutenant colonel Ing. Roman Vítek, Ph.D., who explained weapon experts’ education for both Czech military forces and civilian institutions and informed of department’s involvement in research and development.
Later, the guests exchanged more information of military education in both countries during the lunch with University of Defence rector prof. Ing. Rudolf Urban, CSc.
