Department of Aerospace Electrical Systems (K-206):
Head of the department:
Col. Miloš ANDRLE, Assoc. Prof., Dr.
Authorised head of the department:
Rudolf JALOVECKÝ, Assoc. Prof., Dr.
Specialization:
Department of Aerospace Electrical Systems deals with aircraft electrical maintenance and air navigation services. It is mainly focused on the onboard aircraft electrical and electronic systems, aircraft instrumentation and weapon and radio systems. It also deals with onboard as well as terrestrial components of navigation and landing systems. Air navigation services are divided into air traffic management, communications, and navigation and surveillance systems. Department specialization is closely related to a wide range of scientific and technical areas such as analogue and digital signal processing, computer technology, optoelectronics, display units, multi-sensor data processing and processing of radio and radar signals.
Education Activites:
The work of the department staff include providing an education in accredited courses in Bachelor’s, Master’s and doctoral degree programmes focused on avionics, airborne electrical systems, radio, radar and electronics, airborne weapon systems and air navigation systems. Students who complete the courses successfully will be awarded a title of "bakalář" (Bc.), "inženýr" (Ing.) or "doktor" (Ph.D.) respectively. In accordance with the Czech Air Force requirements we provide the non-accredited courses covering management and logistics in the Air Force and a short-time courses intended for an Air Force staff to increase their technical knowledge or introduce a new technologies or systems.
Research and Development:
Research and development is focused on the defense area and actual needs of military aircraft industry. R&D teams mainly conduct research and development of new modern avionic system technology and their implementation on various hardware platforms. A special scientific interest lies in the area of electronic systems of unmanned aerial vehicles. The department is doing research and development of a digital video communication system of UAVs, optoelectronic coordinators of guided weapons, wireless optical links, and passive surveillance systems with short basis. R&D is also focused on spurious phenomena in ATC and information exchange between aircraft and ATC. The department cooperates with military technical centers and other avionics companies.
