NOVOTNÝ, Adam.Aplication of digital filter with finite impulse response to the chosen FPGA circuit. [Bachelor thesis]. Supervisor Ing. Petr Bojda, Ph.D., Brno: University of Defence, Faculty of Military Technology, 2011. 59 p. During the signal processing there are many causes when signal consist of unnecessary or unwanted components or there is noise in it, which can degrade the quality of the wanted signal. Then it is necessary to filter the signal and remove these parts. Digital filter with finite impulse response (FIR filter) is nowadays more and more widespread filtering instrument. With some restriction in filter tap and speed the FIR filters are often implicated to many circuits in many branches. The programmable field gate arrays (FPGA) become very effective platform in that. This work contextualizes to the issue of digital filters and it describes basic properties of FIR filter including some mathematic operations which are related with them. It mentions basic design methods and weighting sequences. A few pages are devoted to description of gate arrays, their structure, technology used during manufacture and function. Chosen current available software utilities useful during filter design and its application to the gate array chip are described in the text. There is a description of simple filter which was demonstratively realized using described design programs in the end. But it did not use the full potential of the filter. The main idea was to create compact writing, which can give a basic and help with FIR filter solution to people, who are not versed in the digital filters issues.

Jirí Nemecek, CSc., Brno: University of Defence, Faculty of Military Technology, 2011. 71 p. This bachelor thesis is concerned with the procedure of determination of the possible launching area of the medium range air – to – air missile (MRAAM). This problem is one of basic tasks solved at combat use of a fighter. In this thesis, limiting conditions are mentioned. On the basis of the conditions, the procedure of the possible launching area is created. Realistic properties of the missile, the target and the atmosphere are assumed. The properties were obtained from publicly available sources. The essence of the problem consists in determination such area around the target from which the missile can be launched with high probability that the target will be reached. The procedure is worked up with respect to supposed guidance laws of the MRAAM. Results for typical values were assessed in Excel environment.

This fact implies that monitoring of functionality of these beacons is necessary. The report includes the specifications of an NDB beacons, their positioning and basic principle of operation. Another important part for motion and manufacturing of the NDB monitoring receiver is a principle of electromagnetic wave spread in medium wave and long wave bands, an analysis of radio receivers, their parameters and their connection options, which are also featured in this thesis. In the final part, a particular connection method has been selected, which was designed and produced.
