The scientific-research projects are aimed at the needs of armed forces, especially in the fields of fortification and underground constructions, military roads and airfields, military constructions of bridges, construct structures diagnostics and engineer plants and environment protection. The application of the scientific-research projects displays as expert advice in assessment of military construct structures malfunction, designing and aid while implementing of temporary bridges construction using different materials. The members of the department have succeeded in attaining several grants within working on research projects and successfully represent their research at regular exhibitions such as IDET and AUTOTEC. The department deeply cooperates with military units and institutions, civilian and military research institutes and civilian universities. It regularly organizes the international conference on maintenance, reconstruction and modernization of constructions; the doctoral conference and specialized seminars on constructional and mechanical problems. The members of the department have participated in the project “Efficient utilization of information technologies in reducing flood effects in the Czech Republic”, which was awarded “Computerworld Honours“.
