Scientific Work and Area of Technical Activities:
The core of his scientific and technical activity lies in the development of dependability theory and safety of complex technical systems focusing on military and transport equipment. He is the author, that is, the co-author of 16 monographs and manuscripts, and more than 200 articles in scientific journals and proceedings more than half of which was published abroad. He has participated in handling lots of scientific projects. He cooperates closely with industrial companies in the area of dependability assurance and safety of technical systems. He takes an active part in the activities of national and international technical organizations in the area of dependability and safety:
- The International Federation for the Promotion of Mechanism and Machines – The Technical Committee for Reliability – an active member.
- The European Safety and Reliability Association – The Technical Committee on Safety of Land Transportation – an active member.
- The Society of Reliability Engineers – an active member.
- The Czech Society of Quality – an active member of the committee of The Technical Group for Dependability.
Professor Vintr was awarded Doctor Honoris Causa degree on 23 march 2011 by Alexander Dubček University of Trenčín, Slovak Republic.
Pedagogic Activities:
Professor Vintr teaches the following subjects at the University of Defence:
- Dependability and diagnostic of combat and special vehicles (BSC study programme);
- Dependability of combat and special vehicles (MSC study programme);
- Dependability of military technology (MSC study programme);
- Dependability Theory (PhD study programme);
- Dependability Engineering (PhD study programme);
- Reliability Testing (PhD study programme).
He also teaches Dependability of transport machines and equipments at Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Brno University of Technology.
