Faculty of Military Technology plans and actual goals for collaboration with institutions abroad are principally based on the Czech Ministry’s of Defence basic documents that consider international cooperation in young military professionals’ education and training an imperative for the mission.
To meet the goals, Faculty of Military Technology places accent on the processes that allow a more thorough cooperation with the military forces and military educational or research and development institutions of NATO member countries, Visegrad Four countries, neighbouring countries of the Czech Republic and other European Union nations.
An important turning point in Faculty of Military Technology life was meeting the conditions of the involvement in the European lifelong learning programme of Erasmus. To faculty teachers, the programme offers teaching periods used for partner institutions involved in the lifelong learning programme and with which the sending institution had signed a bilateral agreement. The teacher may teach for the partner university for maximum six weeks. The purpose is to give lectures, lead seminars, workshops or consultations.
The students of the Faculty of Military Technology, both military and civilian, who have enrolled in an accredited Bachelor’s, Master’s or doctoral degree programme may use the opportunity offered by Erasmus of studying on site of the foreign institution for the period of 3 to 12 months.
Faculty of Military Technology also achieves exceptional results in the engagement in research and development international programmes. Faculty of Military Technology staff represent the Czech Republic to NATO/UN international working groups, in NATO expert panels or European Defence Agency working group sessions. For example, University’s Faculty of Military Technology personnel are members of scientific organisations of WSEAS (World Scientific and Engineering Academy and Society), USA. Many of the Faculty of Military Technology departments collaborate with NATO Research and Technology Organisation and Faculty’s researchers are NATO expert teams members in various engineering fields.
