Specific Orientation:
The department deals with the development of the military logistics theory and the fulfilment of logistics functions of the logistic support system in the Army of the Czech Republic. It defines logistic principles and procedures in connection with achieving the tasks of the logistic support in peace and in military operations mainly at the tactical level of command and management of the Army of the Czech Republic. It independently develops the material management, quality management, logistic services and the transport support of armed forces areas.

Department of Logistics is one of the fundamental departments on Faculty of Economics and Management.
The Department of Logistics is focusing principally on activities realization in terms of logistic supply chain. It uses diverse scientific methods at work, mainly economic, manager, mathematic, informative and technical methods. Utilization of these methods enables optimal instruments analyse and propose.
Pedagogical focus on:
Department of Logistics evolves pedagogical-educational activities in terms of State defence economy branch, which constitute one of the 3 study program Economy and management piers. Department of Logistics guarantees 80% of Logistics module classwork and 20% of Logistics service module and Civilian protection module classwork. Department insure Logistics module special contents thereby guarantees necessary acreditation potential as well. This is possible due to long-term and active works approach each scientific-pedagogical members of Logistics Department both in Czech Republic and abroad.
Subjects taught by Department of Logistics in bachelor, master and doctoral study programs (internal or part-time character) evolves theoretical knowledge. It creates a basis for economically fundamentals practical application as well.
Scientific activities:
Department of Logistics takes share significantly during years 2004 - 2009 in faculty experimental intents on the topic: Military and economy aspects of professional Czech Army build-up process and her further development perspective. An effort is focused on:

manipulation centre in terms of pilot project in MoD department;

solving unnecessarily personal estate problems;

contributing to new basis logistics directive creation;

more detailed elaboration Czech Army logistics into multinational logistics structure;

ensuring strategic movement and transport of NATO missions units;

materials flows optimization.
Therefore the Department of Logistics has proposed and worked in process 10 partial tasks, which will be participate in further theoretical-practical use of economy and management problems in logistics.
