The Department has a significant share in solving the faculty research projects. It concentrates its effort on the topic of applying econometrics for the needs of the Army with the focus on:

• quantitative methods application while modelling decision-making processes in economics, logistics and management,
• time series as the tool of statistical prediction of the economics and defence relations development,
• statistical methods application at the managerial decision-making,
• analysis and categorization of software products for the crisis management and the civil protection,
• content and teaching methods modernization of applied disciplines based on the mathematical modelling,
• development and implementation of part-time study technologies,
• optimization of communicative and information provisions of special and teaching faculty activities.

The Econometrics Department’s inner structure itself, which consists of the group for the process modelling, the group for the data processing and the group for the part-time study, is oriented towards above mentioned goals and serves to this purpose.
